Building Bridges, Fostering Growth

Our Vision

Founded in 2009 in West Belfast, the Black Mountain Shared Space Project (BMSSP) has grown into a dynamic cornerstone for peacebuilding, reconciliation, and community growth. At the heart of this initiative is our Shared Space hub—a visionary community and cultural centre designed to bridge divides, nurture personal development, and unite communities across the peace lines. Our newly envisioned hub isn’t just a building—it’s a living, breathing engine of transformation. It will seamlessly connect with Belfast’s city-centre greenway, offering versatile educational, cultural, and recreational spaces. Whether you're attending workshops in the Education Space, gathering in the Multi-Purpose Hall, or hosting an event in the Function Hall, BMSSP is fostering jobs, collaboration, and cultural exchange for all. With thousands already engaged in our current programmes, this shared future is ripe with possibility. BMSSP invites everyone to join us in creating a warm, welcoming place where every voice is heard, communities flourish, and futures are built together.

Mission

Our mission is to create positive change by bridging communities and addressing local challenges head-on. Through our peacebuilding initiatives and collaborative projects, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and empowerment within the neighborhoods we serve. Join us in building a stronger, more connected community.

We are committed to promoting social justice, equality, and inclusivity in all aspects of our work. By engaging with residents and stakeholders, we strive to amplify diverse voices and create impactful solutions that address the root causes of community issues.
